Nourish Your Mind/Body Connection

How are you nourishing the connection between your mind and body?

The mind/body connection has been shown to improve nearly every aspect of mental, emotional, and physical health.

Why? Because your brain, body, and heart are designed to work together. Yet, we have many modern-day devices and practices that separate these parts.

Take activity monitors for example. Studies show when people are told by their activity monitor that they didn't get enough sleep, but they actually did sleep well, they report feeling more tired the next day. When their activity monitor says they slept great, even if they didn't get good quality sleep, they report feeling rested.

What is going on here?

Those flashy numbers on the screen cannot compete with the more subtle cues from your body about how you feel. The more digital feedback we get about our health and well-being, the less we have to rely on Interoception; the ability to sense and be aware of internal bodily sensations, such as hunger, thirst, pain, heart rate, and temperature

Nourish your mind/body connection by strengthening your ability to listen to your body and trust what it is telling you as the truth.

Your body does not lie. It always tells the truth about what is going on right now. Sometimes it takes a bit of curiosity and science-based information about symptoms to know what it's trying to tell you but it is telling the truth.

Your brain however will resist what your body is telling you, especially if a screen, your self-talk, or another person is telling you something that contradicts what your body is telling you.

Trust your body. It is the way to Be Well Now, and it's free!
